.....La Conexión Colombiana.....

This is a video I made from images I took when we went to Parque Tayrona. The entire place is beautiful; clean and pristine. I'm bummed we weren't able to hike all the way to the end of the trail, but we had a chance to see some gorgeous scenery. Next time I plan on staying a few days and do some serious hiking.

When I get some time I'll post another leg of our trip in the next week or two.

THanks for posting this. I always wanted to take this hike. Nice shot of he wrecked tanker. Also some really nice beach shots too. God I miss the beach. Did you use a filter for the green rocks on the beach shot? Or if digital did you use color enhance?

I don't know your whole trip but could you post your route, start to finish? Thanks!

Hello Rocinante,

On the 2nd or 3rd image on the video I shot the map of the entire route. It shows exactly were we started and the route all the way to the Indian village. I get confused myself and I hiked it. There are about half a dozen beaches. We made it to Cabo, which is roughly half way there.

I don't use any filtration in camera and minimal in my work flow. Actually, since I use a lot of my work as stock I don't even sharpen. I use Bibble for uploading from my cameras and on some of the shots where the light wasn't what I wanted I punched up some of the colors, but just enough to give it some kick before finishing them off in Photoshop. I don't remember if I did anything to the shot of the green rocks, which by the way is Pecina Beach. They were pretty green without any help from me.

It's a great hike, but next time I want to go all the way to the end. It really is a paradise up there and I stated earlier it's a huge place. Every beach is totally different.

This is the entire map. As you can see. It is pretty hefty in size.

Luciano, thanks for the reply however I was unclear in my request about your trip. I am interested in where you started in South America and where you went and are still going. I was guessing that Tayrona was a piece in the middle.

I am looking to plan a trip that starts in Medellín or Bogotá that ultimately gets to Buenos Aires perhaps via the Brazilian coast on the way down.

I'm sorry. I didn't communicate things very clearly. We flew to Bogota and then flew to Santa Marta and then took a taxi to Rodadero. From there we went to Parque Tayrona. I would have loved to have hiked to there from another part of the country, but this was strictly a three week visit. Now I'm back in the states daydreaming.....
